Dr. Jerry Walker is a clinical psychiatrist at the University of Nebraska. In this presentation, he shares the results of a one year float study on US Air Force Operators.

One of the most astounding things about the benefits of float for this demographic is the simultaneous balancing of parasympathetic “rest & digest” and sympathetic “fight or flight” nervous systems. There are few, if any, other holistic wellness modalities that can accomplish regulating both at the same time. This is imperative because operators want to reduce the stress response and be calm and relaxed, but not so relaxed that they’re not able to respond quickly when necessary.
